A different kind of treatment

Most injectable treatments change something structural: a muscle relaxed, a volume replaced. Skin boosters do neither. They are injected into the skin to improve the skin, so it holds water better, reflects light better and feels better.

That means the difference is quieter than filler and takes longer to arrive. What people tend to report is that their skin looks well, and that makeup sits differently, rather than that any one line has gone.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides work by encouraging the skin to repair itself rather than by adding volume. They are used where the skin is thin, crepey or tired, which is why the under eye area is the most asked about.

Rachel offers them for the eyes, for the full face, and for the neck and chest, which is an area people often forget until it does not match their face.

The under eye question

Tired eyes are not one problem. Sometimes it is a hollow, sometimes it is thin skin, sometimes it is pigment, and sometimes it is the fact that nobody is sleeping. They need different answers, and one of those answers is that no treatment will fix it.

Rachel will look and tell you which it is. The under eye is a high risk area and it is not somewhere to guess.

Why skin boosters come as a course of three

These treatments build. One session is rarely enough to see much, which is why they are usually booked as a course, spaced a few weeks apart, and why the price list shows a course price as well as a single one.

Spreading them out is not a sales tactic. The skin needs the time between sessions to do the work.

Afterwards

  • Small raised bumps where the product went in, settling within a few hours to a day
  • Redness for the rest of the day
  • Bruising is possible, particularly under the eyes
  • No makeup over the area until the next morning
  • No gym, sauna or swimming for twenty four hours

Alongside everything else
